The recipe for success on a plant-based diet

Nutrition

Is there a right way to do it?

Yes, there is.

Eating plant-based is not going to a fast food joint and having chips for dinner.

Or drinking coffee with sugar and a vegan muffin.

Eating must be balanced in terms of macronutrients, micronutrients and antioxidants.

I have seen absurd things like a "plant-based" person drinking vodka and having vegan pizzas every day.

Is that plant-based? In theory, it is.

But not the best approach.

Firstly sugar must be out, even fructose-rich fruit, honey, rice syrup, agave and so on.

The base of the diet is vegetables.

Good vegan protein sources like beans, lentils, nuts and seeds. In moderation because too much protein accelerates the aging process, even if it is vegan.

Good oils in moderation also.

And no alcohol. There is nothing good in alcohol that deserves any space in one's diet.

And water, lots of water !!!

Please read my book The Ricardo Riskalla training Diet available on this website, where I describe in detail how to do a right plant-based diet.

It is simpler than you think.

Plant-based, in my opinion, is the future of nutrition, not only for you but for the health of the planet.
